Welcome Back?
Welcome back? I guess I am not welcoming you guys back buy I am welcoming myself back.
Back to a blog! I realized how much I missed blogging and I am attempting to give this another shot
Hi. My name’s Abigail, but you can call me Abby. I am a college student in Northwest Ohio majoring in Public Relations and Marketing which strongly explains my love for writing. In my free time, I like to travel, sleep, cook/bake and just enjoy my life even if that means doing absolutely nothing for one night of the weekend. I am passionate, creative and refuse to listen to bullshit.
So, me in a nutshell? Well, I have had some pretty crazy things happen to me in my life. Good, bad, scary. Maybe I’ll write a post about it someday. Because of my experiences, my view on life has shaped the type of person I am. I refuse to let life pass me by because it is way too damn short. I prefer to work first and play later. I like to have fun but I like to get things done. I am a problem solver by nature but have definitely caused a few problems. I have made memories and I have ruined them. I am lazy but adventurous. I sing too loud and yell pretty often. I am easily annoyed and not good at hiding emotions, unless it’s a negative one. I am proud of myself and my accomplishments but still look in a mirror and point out every bad thing about my body. I am happy but I am also hurting. Life is such a crazy mess but I embrace every. single. minute.
There’s a passage from this movie, The Vow, that sort of sums up how I view life. It goes like this,
“I have a theory too. My theory is about moments. Moments of impacts. My theory is that, these moments of impact, these flashes of high intensity that completely turn our lives upside down actually end up defining who we are. So that is my theory, that these moments of impact define who we are. A moment of impact has potential for change, has ripple effects far beyond what we can predict. Sending some particles crashing together making them closer than before, while sending others off into great ventures, ending where you never thought you’d find them. You see that’s the best thing of moments like these, you can’t, no matter how hard you try, control how they are going to effect you. You just got to let these colliding particles land where they may and wait until the next collision.”
I recently had a guest speaker come to our university and speak about her career. At the agency where she worked, everyone had a side hustle. From wedding photographer to playing in band, everyone pursued their other passion in life outside of public relations. The owner valued each and everyone of their entrepreneurial spirit. So, here I am, starting up my own “side hustle.” This blog will be about myself and my life, advice and instances, tips and tricks, and everything in between.
Some people ask, “what is the purpose of your blog?” I am not here to become famous or an influencer. I am not even expecting this blog to have page views outside of my close friends. My goal is to fall in love with writing even more that I already am. To form thoughts and sentences on paper (or screen) instead of in my head. To show I can maintain a blog and am constantly working on my skills to further my career and my life. I am here to rant, give wisdom, be sarcastic and just be me.
Please enjoy some photos with updates from my life since we last chatted!
